Aakash Institute Darbhanga Refuses Refund Despite Proof? Read What This Student’s Family Faced

Name of Complainant: Sarfaraz Iqbal
Student ID (PSID): 13020387
Branch: Aakash Institute, Darbhanga

Complaint Summary:

Sarfaraz Iqbal has reached out to us regarding a serious concern with Aakash Institute’s refund process. His younger brother had enrolled in the NEET preparation program at Aakash Darbhanga, but due to securing admission elsewhere with a scholarship, they decided to discontinue the course in July 2024.

Here’s where the issue starts.

Even though they submitted a discontinuation and refund request via email in July itself, Aakash Institute later refused the refund. The reason? They claim the request was made on 24th August 2024, which, according to them, makes the student ineligible for a refund.

However, Sarfaraz has clear email proof including a response from Aakash Institute dated 12th July 2024 acknowledging their refund request. They even paid the second installment of the fee during this period, although the due date was August 8th, believing the process was still active and their request was valid.

Despite several follow-ups and sharing all documents, the institute has continued to deny the refund.

“I’m not finding the space to attach documents here, but I have all emails and proofs with me,” Sarfaraz wrote in his message to us.

Key Points:

  • The refund and discontinuation request was raised in July 2024, not in August.
  • The institute acknowledged the request on 12th July via email.
  • Second installment was paid, even though the course was being discontinued.
  • Multiple follow-ups were made, but no positive resolution has been provided.

Our Take:

If Sarfaraz’s claims and documents are genuine, then this looks like a clear case of unjust denial of refund. Educational institutions must be more responsible and transparent with their processes especially when students’ hard earned money and futures are involved.

We urge Aakash Institute to re-examine this case based on the email timeline and documents provided. A student’s right to a fair refund must not be brushed aside due to internal mismanagement or arbitrary deadlines.
