Full Story

Pardeep Kumar, the Founder and CEO of Husky & Bernese Tours Private Limited, recently raised serious allegations of harassment and unethical banking practices at the Axis Bank, Ansal Golf Link 1, Greater Noida branch.

According to his statement, when he initially opened his account, Ms. Aakansha, a bank representative, pressured him into opening a ₹25,000 minimum balance account despite his clear request for a zero-balance account. She allegedly assured him that the account type would be converted within a month, a promise that was never fulfilled.

Later, when Mr. Kumar visited the branch to request a refund of wrongly debited non-maintenance charges, he claims that Branch Manager Mr. Shashank Gupta not only refused the refund but also insisted on creating a Fixed Deposit (FD) of ₹3,00,000 as a condition to convert the account a demand that is both unethical and coercive under RBI norms.

The situation worsened when Mr. Gupta allegedly behaved in an intimidating and disrespectful manner, raising his voice and stating, “You can complain anywhere.” Such language, especially from a senior bank officer, violates the RBI’s Fair Practice Code, which mandates respectful and transparent behavior with customers.

Feeling harassed, Mr. Kumar filed formal complaints with:

He is seeking:

  1. Refund of the wrongly debited non-maintenance charges
  2. Conversion of his account to a zero-balance account
  3. Disciplinary action against both the branch manager and representative

Mr. Kumar’s experience serves as a warning about the importance of consumer vigilance and highlights the need for regulatory oversight in ensuring fair treatment by financial institutions.
